Introducing....A Ripple in Time

I have all my fabric dyed and am in the process of ironing and cutting.   Here is a question for you awesome peeps:    What size of fabric do you like to buy?  (pretend it is my hand dyed stuff)  Fat quarters, 1/2 yards or 1 yard pieces?

And you have been so patient in waiting to see 'A Ripple in Time'.   Here is the write up that goes with it:

It describes the past summer where I would work away on my quilt wherever my children were playing.   I would haul it outside on the deck as they played in the dirt, in the car on road trips, and up to the farm on those rainy days.
I always find summers just seem to disappear in the blink of an eye.   The time vanishes, hence the title of the quilt.

I am always just a little bit breathless when I see it, so no more chatting for me=)

I love your quilt.

As for buying fabric, I usually get one yard or more....but with hand dyed, I would probably go for half yards.

Lovely quilt!

Lately I have been buying half yard cuts. I like the option of being able to cut width of fabric strips.

If money weren't an object, I would probably buy half yards or yards. Because it usually is for me, I end up buying fat quarters. :-) your quilt is very beatuiful!

Oh Jackie....what an awesome quilt!! As for buying I will buy fat quarters if they matching fabrics or a line in a bundle...but at least a yard if I don't know what I am going to do with it. If it is hand dyed..maybe half yards in a bunch that coordinate.

This quilt is fabulous. If I created a quilt that beautiful, I would want to put it some place where I could glance at it all through the day.
I have never purchased hand dyed fabric, but I think I would purchase half yards. For some projects a fat quarter is not enough, but you don't need a full yard.

What a wonderful piece of art! OMG! As for hand dyes...gee I'd want to get half meters for sure. then I usually buy based on how much I like the fabric...the more I like it, the more of it I buy.

Your ripple in time looks somewhere between the bouquets of field flowers our children pick and a handful of ballons at from the local fair and the fireworks on the night of our country's birthday.

As to fabric purchase, it just depends who gives me what and the pieces I find at the second hand shops! But, if I must actually buy fabric it is usually 1 to 2 meters of one particular piece...
