A Little Good News

My quilt 'Bye Gram, I Love You'  is on it's way back from Virginia after being in the Sacred Threads juried show.    Today I received a lovely 'thick' envelope from AQS (American Quilter's Society) telling me that my Gram quilt and Whimsical Wonder were juried into the Des Moines Iowa quilt show in late September.  

I had earmarked these two quilts to show in a museum here for the month of August and then at our local quilt show, but I guess they wanted to travel a bit more.   Both were also in London in May for the Canadian Quilt Show.   I do have another two that can go to the museum for that art show.

Vote for My Quilt

My quilt 'Whimsical Wonder' is one of 93 quilts to be approved for a McCall's quilting contest.   I would love it if you would go and vote for it.  Or at the very least, vote for one you like.   I believe you can vote every day from now till May 24th.  

All you have to do is on the right side of your screen, on my menu selection at the top, you will see a pic of my quilt (colourful flower) and it says 'Vote for Whimsical Wonder'.  Click on the quilt and go vote!

Pretty please with a pile of sugar, chocolate, ice cream, sprinkles and hot fudge brownie sauce on top?

Touching Up

I love this quilt.   It is called Whimsical Wonder and it hangs in our bedroom.   It is so sunny and happy, but the binding bothered me.

I felt it needed more.   So the other day, I took out some fun green buttons and sewed them partway down the side and top of the quilt.   I am more satisfied, but not completely.    It still needs something else.
Here is a before and after, the colours are not very matching.  The top one is more indicative of the actual colour.
