Now I don't know if I like it or not.
Keep in mind that it is looking quite square, but the outer edges of the blue borders are going to be shaped into the wavy pattern as well, and not so thick. What do y'all think?
Before Border
After Border
On a much happier note, look what arrived in the mail today? That is all embellishment goodies. It was a big bag of zipper tape, ribbons, buttons, pompoms, and ric rac. Totally fantastic. My dear friends at Riley Blake Fabrics are letting me do something totally wild and crazy. More on that later.
Do you see the packet of 2" squares? My BFF Brooke sent these to me! She knew I was so sad that I didn't get to market with several of the design team (probably cause I whined about it every day), so she mailed me these scrumptious squares. Yes that little paper does say Good Fortune by Kate Spain! How super cool is that? Love that girl!

I see what you mean about the border. I'm not really sure what is wrong, so it's hard to suggest something. Have you tried putting pink in the border at the end of the blue stripes (so that the blue borders the pink on the inside and pink borders blue on the inside)? I'm not sure if that would be any better or not.
Of course, maybe nothing is wrong and you just have to keep going to see that.
Hi Jackie I really love the blue and the pink. I like the second pic but maybe with a little bit more of the pretty pink showing. I think the border and the columns are great but with the swirls in it you really hide allot of the pink...jmho...
You are so nice to blog about your treat!!! Hugs to you too!!!
However, I am jealous of all those wonderful buttons and trims!!!!
Can't wait to see what you create with them!!!!
Oh I am in love with those colors - such a happy quilt! I don't know what you have planned for the buttons, but I really want to see! Keep us posted! Hey, coud you use those little squares for peek-a-boo flaps on a quilt or do you think they'd fray too much? Just thinking out loud. That Brooke - she's a keeper :)
Have fun going wild and crazy! I think you should just keep going on your R&B quilt - I like it.
I love the blue borders, and I really like the swirls...I think I kinda agree with the commenter that said it seemed like a lot of the pink was hidden. I was wondering about making the swirls smaller, to let more pink show? I dunno. You are way more artistic than I. :)
I have to admit I spent a lot of time gazing at your embellishments....LOL What a haul!
Hey Jackie-
I love the swirls but there is something with the border. What about leaving the swirls and no border?
