My Mom Went to Vegas!

I love when my parents travel!

My mom is a quilter and after many trips of her coming back with fabulous fabric and me saying, 'Why didn't you buy me some?'  And her saying, "I didn't know if you would like that!"   I have insisted that she always carry a virtual $20 in her pocket for me.   So if she sees something I may like, she knows to just buy it and that virtual $20 will turn into a real $20 and a smiling daughter.

This time, I was a bit more prepared.  I did my research and located 2 quilt shops in the Vegas area.  She made it to one and was absolutely thrilled with it.   I told her to buy me fabric with circles.   I have a thing for cirlces right now.  Don't ask me why, I haven't analyzed that.

Anyway, here is how she made out.

Pretty good eh?

The next picture is flannel that she bought for me, and I turned them into pajama pants.   They are so comfortable and so fun to wear.

Good job Mom!  Can't wait till your next trip.

Family Vacation #2

We almost didn't go as an employee got hurt at work, but he recovered, so family vacation #2 got off to a late start. Then it rained the whole time but we didn't care. We didn't make it to Santa's Village but didn't care about that either. We had a blast travelling, amazing with two children, there were no fights or crying or whining. It helps that they love construction and machines and traffic. Thank goodness hwy 69 is always under construction!

They loved staying in a 'hotel', which was actually student housing at one of the campuses in Barrie, but it had a kitchen which was great and 2 bedrooms, not to mention a great price. And five minutes from family and shopping.

All in all, we had a lot of laughs, got to hang out as a family and are really really glad that we live on Manitoulin Island. REALLY!
