Happy and More Happy News!

This week brought a few smiles and a few tears (of joy) to me. First up is this little gem of news.

Martingale - Fun-Size Quilts (Print version + eBook bundle)

My quilt is featured in the new book Fun-Size Quilts! Martingale is hosting a big celebration for the release of the book this Thursday, including 16 giveaways of the eBook. Visit my blog on Thursday and join in the fun!

Martingale - Fun-Size Quilts (Print version + eBook bundle)
This is 'My Little Garden' featured in the book.

Next up is something that has never happened to me before, but is on my bucket list second from the top.

This is the email that did it:

Congratulations! Your entry has been selected as a finalist to be exhibited at the 2014 International Quilt Festival/Houston in the annual IQA fall Judged Show, Quilts: A World of Beauty.

I got into Houston! This made me so emotional, I could hardly tell my mom as I just couldn't believe it happened.  I have been trying for years to get into this show, only to be rejected again and again.  But I just kept on applying.. and this week, my dream came true!

Have a great week!

Congratulations! That's a great "never, ever give up" lesson for all of us.
I'd be happy just to go to Houston. I have no intention of ever sending my quilts in!

I do a lot of machine embroidery to embellish different things. I love your quilt with the ric rac and buttons -- just adorable. Thanks for the chance to win

Congratulations! That's fantastic.
In addition to buttons, I'm a big embroiderer. I think some embroidery can spruce up a quilt

Congrats Jackie I knew they would wake up and put one of your lovely quilts in the show. I always knew that it would finally be your turn because you never give up when you really want something and that is a quality we all admire. Sweet little quilt in that new book.
Hugs Sandra
