I Love a Fat Envelope

If you follow my blog at all, you know I love the thrill of entering juried shows. The excitement is present when I fill out the entry form, but when I get the rejection letter, not so thrilling .  And I have gotten way, way too many to count.

But every once in a while I get what quilters that enter juried shows, call the fat envelope.   Essentially it means that the envelope is stuffed with your acceptance letter and all the necessary paperwork you need to fill out, in order to get your quilt to the juried show.

The skinny envelope, contains just that one dreaded piece of paper telling you that you suck.   Kidding... it is usually a very nice letter and sometimes they even tell you how many entered and how many were accepted, which I find helpful, albeit depressing=)

But I digress... today I got a fat envelope from Paducah!   My quilt Ripple In Time got accepted.   I am so excited.

I love this quilt for so many reasons.  The first is that I dragged it everywhere with me one summer as I hung out with my young children. Outside it went when they played in the dirt, inside on the rainy days.

This was the summer we decided to hatch a chick from an egg and got a cute little guy my youngest named 'Chick Peep'.
I should mention that we didn't give the chick back to the farm once he was born.. we kept him for quite some time. He became a real pet as you can see him hanging out on my leg with my dog looking on.

So when I think of my quilt 'A Ripple In Time', the name came from how fast yet so memorable that summer went by, just a ripple in time.

I am linking up over at Nina-Marie's and CQA/ACC blog.
