I have entered into the Wearable Art category twice in the Canadian juried show. This one, 'Serenity' got in:
But the bonus was that I got great feedback on both, so learned something. Now here is my q to you. I am tired of making jackets to enter, like I have made soo many=) Anyway, what else could I make that would be more exciting than a jacket/coat? From what I have seen the majority of entries are some type of outer garment. Some do dresses, but I am not a big fan of that either. Is there anything else you think would shock the jurors enough they would accept it?

How about a skirt? If the shock factor is a must, it could always be a mini skirt! ;)
I always find it shocking when people wear tube tops...a quilted one might make it interesting.
Palazzo pants. Or maybe baby bunting?
How about a cape? or serape? Then of course there is always a vest. For something really shocking, how about a bra?
I once saw a quilted wedding gown, anyone in your family getting married. It was beautiful with lots of 3D art on it but don't ask me where I saw it. The bra idea is good what about quilted housecoat. Blessings Sandra
I've seen people do bras before. That would be good. A beautiful slip that peeks out from below a skirt could be fun. I love the idea of a cape or a serape. Kulats? (SP?) Hat? Jewelry (does that count as wearable?) Shoes?
A quilted bra! With a detachable 'form' (a form is the temporary batting-filled pouch that serves as a substitute boob until the silicone prosthesis can be worn...12 wks after mastectomy)! Do you know how practical that is? Well, no, I guess unless you've had a mastectomy, you wouldn't know. So let me tell you: It would be so cool to have a quilted bra right now!
a bikini! ; P
How about a child's rain hat and raincoat or a pair of gloves. The gloves could reflect that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing.
I love the two jackets but I kind of agree that they have been done. I like the idea of skirts but not dresses. How about a pair of shoes too, or rain boots to go with the child's rain set, you could add an umbrella too.
Ok I will stop now!!
What about shirts? Or a cape? You could sell the jackets that you are done with.
While swimming thought why not make a beach coverup with hat and bag.
I like the idea of a cape, although again, it is similar to a jacket I suppose. Hmm - I need a new housecoat - I like that idea, too!
Hello....visiting from TNTN:)
How about a Victorian style corset or bustier. I'm a Steampunk fan:)
I love the first jacket...it's lovely.
Sorry I don't have any suggestions I think you your both jackets are great infact I like jacket #2 best , guess I wouldn't make it as a judge . Oh how about something for a child instead of an adult , a dress with a quilted portion on both the bodice and hem area would be sweet . Good luck.
A bustier? LOL Getting a little riske, aren't I? Giggle! I can see lots of embellishment opportunities there. :)
What beautiful work you do...great job!
