Thank you all! I reached my goal of 150 followers before March 31st. To celebrate I am going to have another giveaway because you guys are just the best!
First let me tell you a little bit about my mini pieces of art below. I had small bits and scraps of fabric left over, after sewing up several items from the Sweet Divinity fabric. I couldn't bear to part with it, so I decided to use a neat technique designed specifically for these little pieces.
To start, I ironed on some fusing to one side of the Timtex. I chose this as it is quite firm and I wanted the piece to be sturdy. Then I cut up all my bits of fabric into even smaller pieces. Once this was done, I placed them on the Timtex in a fun pattern. The first quilt I let the timtex show through, and the second one I overlapped all the pieces.
Apply heat to fuse them and you can be done. I wanted to add a little extra so I got out my shiva paintstiks and stencils and played. After curing for 24 hours I heat set it. I fused on a backing, did some stitching and my little quilts are complete.
Onto my giveaway. I have 5 fat quarters to give to one lucky fabric lover. Here is what you have to do:
1. Leave me a comment telling me what type of embellishing you want to learn about.
2. Blog about this and it counts for 2, so leave me two comments.
3. If you get a new follower to join, tell me their name and leave 3 comments.
I will make the draw on March 31st. Good luck!

I also can't believe I am the first person to comment... wow, that's never happened before. Hmm as far as embellishments go I really am only familiar with like applique or now from your post the fusible webbing stuff. I do see people using ric rac on quilts or lace, and I often wonder what the best way is to keep the lace on, the ric rac I can guess... but yeah.
Awesome giveaway!! I'm still learning the joy of quilting but I'm hoping soon to add applique to the list...OK so I'll have to to add all the tatted butterflies and flowers mom is making for this wall hanging I'm working on quilting!!
Great giveaway!
I'd love to learn more about using wax crayons etc on fabric
Congrats on reaching your goal before the end of the month. I'm with gill - I'd love to learn more about fabric tinting with crayons.
I'd love to someday learn how to use my sewing machine to put beading on quilted wallhangings, etc. I was reading about it on another blog. Gorgeous!
I blogged about this at: http://quiltyascharged.blogspot.com/2011/03/giveaway-at-jackies-art-quilts_24.html

Thanks!
I would love to learn to do thread painting using all the beautiful threads out there.
Hi Jackie- those fabrics are just gorgeous! I would like to learn more about three-dimensional flowers to put on bags/hangins, and free motion quilting which I haven't tried yet. :)
I'd like to see info about beading on a quilt. Thanks for the giveaway!

Lately I've been looking into Paint sticks, I think it would be fun to make my own designs on fabric.
I would love to see some beading embellishments!! That would be cool.
Count me in please!
I have blogged about it and become a follower.
I would love to learn how to applique
Any kind of embellishment you show is more than I already know. I tried some fusible web on the reverse of some fabric and then tried to blanket stitch on a block, and the piece I had fused kept going down into the needle hole. I was following the directions exactly as they were stated, or at least when I kept reading the instructions I thought I was following them. But I ended up with a mess. So yes, I could certainly learn from anything you post.
I'm interested in embellishments for machine applique. Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway.
I love embellishment. I would like to learn more about applying colour to fabric, either through paint, paint sticks, ink pens, etc.
I'm relatively new to sewing for real. Haven't since i was little. I never learned applique so that's my next step.
I'd love to learn about beading. One of the ladies at guild had done some on a wallhanging and it looked so neat!
Thanks for the chance to win!

I saw an earlier post on your blog (scooting around looking at the interesting posts!) about making paper beads. It didn't say too much about the how, although it did list supplies. I'd love to learn how you make them, if you paint or seal them, and then how to use them on a wallhanging or decorative quilt.
Beautiful, beautiful fabrics! (Hope I can win!)

Congratulations on reaching 150 followers! I've not done much applique, so I'd like to learn more. Also thread painting sounds like a fun way to embellish a quilt.

I'd like to learn more about thread painting for added embellishment.
Alex Anderson had a lady on simply Quilts a long time ago who did bobbin work. She had a spare bobbin case & would change the tension on it to get different effects using different types of thread. I've never been able to find that episode again. Would love to learn more about it.
I would like to learn about crayons or thread emblishment.
I don't know if you would call this embellishment or not, but I've never learned how to do prairie points to embellish a quilt, and I would love to learn!
Wonderful giveaway and thanks for the chance to win. Congratulations on your followers.
I love to embelish all the time, but have never used the paint sticks.
Gorgeous fabrics. I like the way you fused your scraps to the Timtex and created a fun project. I would love to learn ribbon embroidery for embellishments.
Love how you did that. They look really "fractured" which is cool. I am so happy you reached your goal and knew you could. I will try to blog about this later. Have to run right now! Well done, Girl! I want to learn more about beading, as you've alluded to already.
I would like to learn how to apply cording to a quilt top.
i would love too learn too finnish all my ufo's hihihi. I love the fabrics and you're blog.
I think I'd really like to learn how to incorporate beading into quilt projects.
I would like to learn paper piecing and applique.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I would like to learn about how to stitch embellishments onto a bed quilt so they will stay and are washable. For example, if add bits of crochet, or lace, or buttons. I've seen this on wall hangings etc, yet I make larger quilts that are used.
Second would be using crayons or colored pencils to add color to quilts - inexpensively and also washable.
Thanks for the survey and thank you for the lovely giveaway. I enjoy dropping by to read about your art quilts.
I'd love to learn about fabric crayons and how to use them to embellish quilts!
I've blogged about your giveaway on my blog at http://quiltingframeofmind.blogspot.com

Hey, Jackie! I blogged it! :-)

Thanks very much for describing your technique with the fusible, Timtex and scraps of fabric. I do liberated patchwork with scraps, and I use scraps in small needleturned abstract landscapes. I think I'm ready to venture into quilts like the one you made. I've never used pastels on fabric (I've never taken an art course, either!), or paint sticks, so that's where I might start. I have some transfer/disperse dyes which work on poly fabric, and I need to try those again, too.
Thanks for the giveaway. I'm going to subscribe to the feed of your blog so I can read you each day.
I'd like to learn some tricks and tips to beading on quilts. I haven't seen any in person to see how things are done.
I'd like to learn to do applique. Thanks for a great giveaway! :)
Wonderful giveaway. I'd like to learn about threadpainting, I've seen so many wonderful things with it. Congrats on reachingyour 150 goal.
I love your fabric. I am a new reader to your blog, and I would like to learn more about fabric crayons. I didn't get three new readers, but I have to give credit to "Peas in a Pod" blog for sending me to this great web site. Thanks, Mamma Pea!
Happy Birthday. I would love to learn to bead more on quilts and learn 3d effects (like the petals on your pink flower wall quilt).
I would love to learn how to do the scalloped edges on quilts along with the bias binding. I love the scalloped finished look, but have always had a fear to try it!! Thank you for the giveaway!
I'd love to learn more about applique
I love your Petite People! Maybe could you show us how you made them, and how you use them? Thank you!
Congrats on your goal :) Would love to learn about couching. I love the tutorial about the beading by the way. Yeah, I know, I'm kind of reading your posts out of sync.
