A Surprise For Me!

It's like the world is balancing itself today just for me.
I got my quilt out the door and in the mail in record time.   I can't show it to you though... one of THOSE awesome deals=)     And there was a surprise waiting for me on my counter.

This old box just sat there.
My husband told me that a girl I know dropped it off for me thinking I could use it.
Guess what was in it?
Vintage lace!

It gets better....
VINTAGE RIC RAC!!   Okay, who is screaming now?  I am, I am.  Wait, it actually gets better.

Two toned and sparkly ric rac!   I almost wrote this post in all capital letters, it is just that exciting!   They don't even make this stuff anymore.

I was so happy, I started free motion quilting circles.   As you know I love circles, and dots, and ric rac.  Life is good!

  1. Fun stuff.
Your circle quilting looks great. My circles are never that round.

  2. I have always loved rick rack but much of it was 'cleared out' in my sewing room clean up! Actually I sold a bunch of the sparkly rick rack in my etsy shop -- it went pretty quick, so other people love it too!

  9. Love the vintage laces and rick-racks! I have a bunch like these from my grandmother's stash, including a couple of the metallic ones. The price tags are still on some of the packages of rick-rack - 15 cents and 25 cents - but she bought them at half price (original prices are crossed out) for 8 cents and 13 cents!
